Hillsboro Housing Development
Habitat for Humanity is partnering with the City of Hillsboro to build 10 new homes between 2024-2026. This collaboration is designed to address the need for affordable homes for local workers and enhance the quality of life for Hillsboro residents.
about the project
The ten homes will be available to families across a range of income levels, resulting in a vibrant, mixed-income development.
- Three homes will be reserved for Habitat for Humanity partner families, who will utilize a 0% interest mortgage to purchase the home.
- Three homes are for first-time homebuyer families making less than 80% of the county median income.
- The remaining four homes will be sold to any buyer whose household income is no more than 120% county median.
All homes in the development will be outfitted with a solar array and solar backup, ensuring that clean energy will power these homes and that future homeowners can save money on energy bills.
CrossMod design
All ten properties will be CrossMod homes -- a new class of manufactured housing that offer a sustainable, affordable, and high-quality option for communities across the county.
The houses are designed to fit in seamlessly with existing housing. The CrossMod has architectural elements and specifications that exceed minimum HUD standards.
