About Habitat
Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region was founded in 1992 with a conviction that every family should have a decent, safe, and affordable place to live. Habitat builds and rehabilitates single-family homes in our five-county service region: La Crosse, Vernon, Trempealeau, and Monroe Counties in Wisconsin and Houston County in Minnesota. We partner with low-income families to create stable, affordable housing and boost the economic health of our region. In the past 30 years, Habitat has built 70 homes for local families.
In addition to providing paths to homeownership, our organization is committed to caring for our local environment through sustainability initiatives, building material reuse, neighborhood revitalization, and home repair. We manage a highly popular ReStore, where community members can donate and purchase building materials, furniture, appliances, flooring, fixtures, and much more.
